Lando Norris launches race team, young driver programme

Lando Norris, the 26-year-old Formula 1 World Champion, has announced the creation of LN4 Fusion, his own single-seater race team and young driver programme. The project will race in F3 and F4 next year, with plans to expand across Europe's single-seater ladder from 2027 and an intention to acquire an F2 entry. Norris has signed a McLaren contract extension to at least 2030, granting him long-term stability rarely available to an active driver. The team's management structure reflects serious ambition. Rene Rosin, former Prema team boss, joins as consultant and team principal. Guillaume Capietto, Prema's former technical director, becomes racing director. Dan Richards is CEO, Dan Hazlewood leads the British F4 entry, and Julian Rouse, former Alpine sporting director, oversees the fully-funded Legacy Programme. This is a strategic attempt to import Prema's winning formula rather than build from scratch. Domenicali's public endorsement signals FOM support, but the F2 entry market remains a major obstacle. The programme is independent from any manufacturer academy, challenging the dominance of Red Bull and Ferrari in talent development. However, the team has no on-track data yet, and financial sustainability remains unproven. This is the founding of a potential racing empire, not an instant success story.
